Materials Processing Institute teams up with Malvern Panalytical to develop additive manufacturing methodologies

The Materials Processing Institute has teamed up with Malvern Panalytical to develop additive manufacturing (AM) methodologies to predict powder performance before the laser powder bed fusion process. This methodology, first presented at the World Powder Metallurgy 2022, emphasises the importance of predictability in powder reusability.

Here is an article recently published in TCT Magazine about this methodology and the partnership between the Materials Processing Institute and Malvern Panalytical. The article discusses morphological image analysis, as well as looking at how material characterisation technologies are revolutionising additive manufacturing.
