New Appointment with focus on the Engineering and Offshore Sectors


Garry Ingoldsby has been appointed as Business Development & Account Manager to focus on the engineering and offshore sectors. This appointment further strengthens the commercial team at the Materials Processing Institute and follows on from the arrival of Dawn Huntrod, Andrea Parr and Anders Jersby, who joined as Business Development Managers during 2015.

The Materials Processing Institute is an open-access innovation centre that undertakes R&D work for companies looking to streamline their processes and save on long-term costs.

The Institute works across a range of sectors including energy, chemicals and process, recycling and waste, construction, engineering, automotive, offshore, oil and gas and nuclear.

Garry said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at the Materials Processing Institute, and I am excited about the challenges that lie ahead.

“There are lots of opportunities for a smart organisation like the Materials Processing Institute, our scientific knowledge, research facilities and experience will be of huge value to many clients out there, and it is my job to identify them and plug them into the technical support the Institute provides.

“The Materials Processing Institute is known for its research with industry that both helps develop and commercialise new technology and also supports existing and established organisations improve performance. Part of my role is to review and further develop the offering from within the business and ensure key industry sectors such as the offshore energy market and engineering sector understand how they can benefit from our expertise.” 

Garry’s arrival comes at a busy time for the Materials Processing Institute, which is now providing engineering and technical support on an ongoing basis to a number of local and national companies.

Garry added: “I have built up some excellent working relationships in various sectors over the years, and I’m confident I can use that knowledge to help the Institute continue to develop.”
