Chinese Industrial Delegation Visits Materials Processing Institute


A delegation from the Beijing North China Vehicle Group, including representatives from a range of machinery manufacturers, visited the Materials Processing Institute as part of a programme put together by Newcastle University.

Delegates learned how the Institute supports the materials industry worldwide through implementation of its specialist research expertise. The Material Processing Institute has an international reputation in advanced materials, low carbon energy, the circular economy and the application of digital technologies.

Qi Zhi Wang, leader of the delegation and a director of the North China Material Science and Engineering Technology Group commented, “The delegation is interested in materials processing technologies and their application. Before we visited the UK, we identified the Materials Processing Institute as a research centre of interest due to its expertise and its involvement with IP development”.
