Webinar - Cracks in continuous casting: highlights of 25 years of RFCS research

Date: Thursday 25th June 2020

Time: 9.00am - 11.45am BST

This webinar is being organised by as part of the current RFCS (Research Fund for Coal and Steel) project named VALCRA: “Valorisation and dissemination of RFCS projects results and experience in steel surface quality issues on as-cast crack formation”.

The objective of this dissemination project is to analyse and support the knowledge achieved and results obtained in the projects concerning the formation of cracks during continuous casting of steel in the last 25 years. To maximise the value to be gained from this knowledge by disseminating it as widely as possible within the European steelmaking community and at the end, develop a road map defining future research targets.

The project started in June 2018 and is being carried out by the following leading European steel and research organisations:

• CSM: Rina Consulting – Centro Sviluppo Materiali (Italy) as leader

• BFI: VDEh-Betriebsforschungsinstitut GmbH (Germany)

• Materials Processing Institute (United Kingdom)

• SIDENOR I+D (Spain)

• Swerim (Sweden)

Join the webinar to:

• Find out more about the project

• Hear about the key areas covered

• Learn more about the results from the research

• Find out more about future research targets

Along with the opportunity to join the live discussion with your questions to the partner organisations.
