Delegates enjoyed an open evening at the Materials Processing Institute organised for the Chemical and Process Industries with the support of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Thanks go to the Guest Speaker, Chris Lakin of BWC Performance, and a Lean Sigma Master Black Belt, for a great presentation on:

"The Value of Forensic Insight"

During the evening, delegates also had the opportunity to network and learn more about the Institute and how it supports the Chemical and Process Industries; this included presentations and a tour of the following facilities and laboratories:

  • Chemical Processes
  • Mechanical Engineering (with Metallurgy and Refractories)
  • Process Simulation
  • Electronic Systems and Control
  • Energy, Environment & Minerals
  • Normanton Steel Plant

The Materials Processing Institute delivers research, development and process improvements to industry; this open evening gave delegates the opportunity to hear about and see the scope of support available.
