Wisdom Asotah, a Senior Engineer in our Sustainable Cement and Concrete Group, will be giving a specialist presentation at the upcoming Henry Royce Institute Conference.
The title of the presentation is:
Synergy between Cement and Steel Industries for Low-Carbon Construction
Steel and cement industries are an indispensable part of the global economy. However, the production of these materials contributes about 15% to global greenhouse emissions. Collaboration between these two industries in areas such as waste utilisation as alternative binders and carbon capture could reduce emissions and accelerate low-carbon construction.
Wisdom will be giving this presentation in the Structural Innovations breakout session and highlighting the work that we are doing to re-purpose materials from both the steel and cement production processes.
