Materials Processing Institute raises funds for homeless youngsters

Eight employees walked a twenty mile route through the Esk Valley, from Castleton to Whitby seafront to raise funds to support Coatham House on 17 September, raising more than £350 for the charity.

Coatham House offers supported accommodation to local young people living in the Redcar & Cleveland area who are in need of housing. Along with housing services, Coatham House also provide support for current and former residents in independent living and personal development.

Chris Paterson, researcher at Materials Processing Institute said: “Each year employees from the Materials Processing Institute take part in a sponsored event for a local charity; this year, we walked for Coatham House, an incredible organisation, which does so much for young people in the area.”

Chris McDonald, CEO of the Materials Processing Institute, said: “The Materials Processing Institute is proud to be supporting Coatham House. They provide essential support for homeless young people and we are grateful for their work in the community.

“At the Institute, as well as the work we do supporting innovation and industry on Teesside, we are committed to being a constructive part of the local community.”
