Chris McDonald joins newly formed Greensteel Council

Chris McDonald, CEO of the Materials Processing Institute, has joined the panel of the newly formed Greensteel Council. This Council has been set up to help develop low-carbon metals industries in the UK, advise business and to champion the case for green solutions to the challenges facing the steel sector.

Along with Chris Mcdonald, the new panel includes Professor Julian Allwood, from the University of Cambridge, Martin Lawrence, ex-managing Director at EDF Energy and former Welsh government minister Edwina Hart.

Chris McDonald said, "I am pleased to have joined the Greensteel Council, which is being formed as an independent advisory body on low carbon steel production. The UK is well placed to be the leading nation in producing sustainable, low carbon materials, through our advances in technology and innovation."

The Greensteel Council is being sponsored by Liberty House and sister company Simec and has recently held its first meeting at the Materials Processing Institute.
